I made it to South Korea safe and sound!!! The flight was actually good no stops or layovers!!! It was such a nice airline (and the biggest plane I've ever been on! The front of it had an upstairs!) The food was actually ok, snacks were good (honey roasted peanuts and a banana!), Half way through the flight we were given a hot towel to wipe our faces!! Each seat had a TV where we could play games, watch movies, watch the progress of our trip, and listen to music ect…. I watched Eat, Pray, Love (It was good) and some dance movie Step up 3 or something....it was lame.
My dorm is small, but I am making it work!! I like my roommate, her name is Kasia (pronounced) Kasha! She is from Canada! I like the food thus far. I dove right in and have only eaten one American meal. My favorite Korean meal is Bimbibap which is also the healthiest meal!! Everyone I work with is really very nice and helpful!! Most of them are from the US or Canada but some are from the UK and South Africa!
I feel like I am adjusting to the time change and Korean life well. I arrived in South Korea about 7pm Wednesday night (12-15-10). I was very excited and full of energy so Erin and Jake took me out to a Western bar where we ate dinner and drank wine! Erin and I shared a salad and veggie burger. When we finished eating, some of the other teachers came to the bar for drinks!! It was fun meeting other people I will be working with even though I became VERY tired towards the end of the night. I think that I was in bed by 11pm but because I am not used to the time changer here I woke up the next morning at 7:00am when I didn’t have to get up until 10am. GRRRRRRRR!!!!
Thursday morning I signed some paper work and observed some classrooms! After work I went in to town with Erin and Jake to buy food and stuff for my room (dishes, cleaning supplies and baskets to organize my room)
I had a busy weekend
Friday Worked 8:30am till 5:20pm. Work consisted of going to the hospital for a mandatory medical check-up and observing more classes. After work and going to the cafeteria for dinner I worked out with Erin and Gina!! I went to bed at 7:00pm……I was exhausted!
Saturday we had a company lunch at 12:00pm then I went to Sinchon to see a B-boy show (break dancing) It was very cool!!! Koreans are CRAZY dancers! After that Erin, Relee and I did some shopping in a popular shopping town. When we got home I told Relee that I would watch a movie with her BUT I passed out at 9:30pm.

Sunday the power at the school was out from 10am until 8pm so I went out with 4 other people for the day. We went to Noryangjin for one of the largest fish markets in Korea. It was very interesting as in the experience and the smells. After walking around for a while we picked out and bought 2 different kinds of fish and then brought them to a restaurant to eat while we drank Soju (Vodka)
About to eat a fish eye ball!!
On our way home we went to Gwanghwuamun where we drove past the Korean president’s house (called the Blue House) then parked and walked around until we found a cozy coffee shop where I had a delicious caramel latte!!
